Tactics Cards are powerful enhancement tools introduced in Season 4: Evernight Isle and Season 5: Wild West that provide significant boosts to your gameplay. Understanding how to effectively use and combine these cards can dramatically improve both your PvE efficiency and PvP performance.

Core Cards vs Regular Tactics Cards

#

There are two main categories of tactics cards that function differently throughout the season:

Core Cards (Gold Rarity):

  • Permanent cards that remain active during both season and off-season periods
  • Use profession experience for upgrades and can be enhanced using duplicates
  • Form the foundation of your long-term strategy
  • Only 2 core card slots available
  • Max level is 10

Regular Tactics Cards (Purple, Blue, Green):

  • Season-specific cards that only function during active seasons
  • During off-season periods, all regular tactics cards are removed and become inactive
  • Upgraded using materials obtained from dismantling other tactics cards
  • Include both Battle Cards (4 slots) and Resource Cards (4 slots)
  • Max level is 7, but can go to 7+3 with UR rarity traits

Since core cards and regular tactics cards use separate upgrade resources, you can focus on improving both without having to choose between them.

Card Structure and Random Stats

#

Every tactics card consists of:

  • Main Boost: A fixed primary effect that remains consistent for each specific card type. This effect will improve when upgrading the card’s level.
  • Random Secondary Stats2-3 additional random bonuses drawn from a large pool of possible effects.
  • Card Type: each card will have a type listed at the top left corner (icon). Cards with the same types will boost each other when used together, so it’s worth keeping an eye on that.

You’ll notice that the random secondary stats are color coded as follows:

  • goldUR rarity traits, this (so far) is only the “Tactics Card Level Up” trait which adds 1 levelto your existing tactics card level (allowing it to go past level 7!)
  • purpleSSR rarity traits, these include higher PvP buffs for Attack, Defense, and HP when attacking or defending, or damage reduction/increase when countered.
  • grayregular traits, ranges from lower PvP buffs, to load capacity and durabilty damage improvements.

The colors will help you see at a glance how good the attributes are. We recommend to try and go for tactic cards that have 3 attributes of which at least one is purple. However, don’t stress too much about the secondary effects as it’s very difficult to find the exact combination you aim for!

When you find a card with the UR rarity trait that gives an additional level (+1), or if you are even more lucky and find one that gives +2 or +3, we recommend using that because it increases the main effect of the card, which is generally better than the boosts the random attributes give.

Note that you’re free to change your card setup at any time. The only requirement is that all your squads are back in your base and idle when doing so. For Core Cards there is one additional requirement where you cannot change cards that are in active cooldown. Keep that in mind when using their abilities.

Tip:

Dismantle any card that you don’t intend to use so you can use the materials for upgrades. Keep on top of this every few days to avoid a big backlog of cards to go through!
